IN 2009'S G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, the Eiffel Tower fell over after it was attacked by a green swarm of metal-munching nanobots.
This time, London is the target.
The new UK trailer for G.I. Joe: Retaliation shows part of the UK capital, including the London Eye ferris wheel, collapsing into the ground. And instead of the nanobots we have exploding mechanical insects unleashed at the start of the clip.
It's still very much related to the first film but grittier in tone.
The trailer is embedded below. Some character posters were recently unveiled and a second one for Adrianne Palicki's Lady Jaye, which wasn't among the set when initially unveiled, is included above.
Directed by Jon Chu and with a screenplay by Zombieland scribes Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, is released in the USA on June 29 and in the UK on August 3.
In this sequel, the G.I. Joes are not only fighting their mortal enemy Cobra but are forced to contend with threats from within the government that jeopardise their very existence.
The film stars returning actors Channing Tatum, Ray Park and Byung-hun Lee and Jonathan Pryce and newcomers Bruce Willis, Dwayne Johnson, Adrianne Palicki, Ray Stevenson, Walton Goggins, Joseph Mazzello, Arnold Vosloo, RZA, Jonathan Pryce, Elodie Yung and D.J. Cotrona.
